New Railway Automation Project
You may have read about a railway safety system we helped develop. It is measuring various geometric parameters of freight car wheels on passing-by trains to prevent derailments caused by wheel defects and wear.
We are starting the development of software for a new variant of the system that will be installed in locomotive depots and service centers across Russia. The new equipment will have more sensors, and the software will be more sophisticated, as the number of parameters to be measured has increased and accuracy requirements are now even stronger.
The new systems are expected to be gathering, storing and analyzing up-to-date information about the physical condition of all locomotive wheel pairs in use on Russian Railways, reducing service time and improve safety.
