Excelsior JET for Mac OS X and Other Interesting Questions

We are running a survey among Excelsior JET customers to measure the demand for a few particular features and improvements we have in mind. In particular, we want to know if there is serious interest in a Mac OS X port.

The survey will last until the end of March. All respondents enter a draw to win a $100 Amazon certificate.

If you are a paying customer and want to participate, but have not received an invitation, chances are that it has triggered a spam filter or your email address has changed (there were 20+ bounces.) Please email us and we’ll send you an invitation. Make sure to whitelist our domain, excelsior-usa.com.

New release and new product

We are glad to announce a double release in Excelsior setup authoring products family. Today we revealed a new version of the free Excelsior Installer together with the first public release of its commercial sibling: Excelsior Delivery.

Excelsior Installer 1.6 provides a number of usability improvements and new features.

Excelsior Delivery 1.6 has all features of Excelsior Installer 1.6, plus a few advanced installation features: callback DLLs, file associations, and installation package branding.

Excelsior Installer is, and will remain, free. Excelsior Delivery is priced at $99, but the introductory discount brings the price down to $49.

IntelliJ IDEAL Plug-in Contest Is Over

JetBrains has announced the results of its annual Intellij IDEA Plugin Contest. The prizes include free Excelsior JET licenses, so we are waiting for an official request from JetBrains to send them out to the winners!

Ironically, the Team Leader’s Choice prize went to the IntelliJad plugin, which integrates the Jad decompiler into Intellij IDEA, whereas many of our customers buy Excelsior JET to prevent easy decompilation of their applications…

By the way, you need not write the best IDEA plugin for the next contest in order to get Excelsior JET free. We provide licenses to authors of non-commercial Java applications at no cost.
