Excelsior Microbusiness Licensing Program has been extended to December 31, 2009. Introduced about a year ago, it has already enabled dozens of small companies and self-employed professionals to purchase Excelsior JET at a substantial discount.
We are glad to announce that version 1.8 of Excelsior Delivery and Excelsior Installer products have been released.
The new version features a number of improvements implemented by customer request. It also fixes several bugs so we recommend all users to upgrade.
In the design of our installation products, we valued ease-of-use over feature set and flexibility. Should your needs extend beyond the capabilities of our product in the future, you will now be able to switch over to a more powerful installation platform with ease. We hate vendor lock-ins just as you do.
The major new feature of the new release is integration with NSIS (Nullsoft Scriptable Installation System), a powerful professional opensource installation platform for Windows applications. Now our products are able to export a complete set of scripts necessary to build your setup package with NSIS compiler. You may also run the NSIS compiler directly from within the Packager so it is now possible to use Excelsior Installer and Excelsior Delivery as a GUI wizard for NSIS, though such use was not our main goal.
