The above prices are for single-seat, single-platform licenses with one year of Standard Support. Volume discounts are applicable and there is a discount for dual-platform (Windows+Linux) purchases. Site- or organization-wide commercial-use licenses are not available.
You may also purchase Excelsior JET under an annual "Lease-To-Own" subscription plan
What you get
One commercial license for Excelsior JET entitles you to:
- Install Excelsior JET on any single computer, such as a developer workstation
- Make a secondary installation on another computer, such as a laptop or home system, provided it will not be used simultaneously with the primary installation
- One year of support and upgrades
- Perpetual use of the version you have purchased and any upgrades received under the support contract
- Unlimited redistribution of Excelsior JET Runtime and Excelsior Installer as parts of your desktop and server-side Java applications
Note: Runtime fees apply when you deploy Excelsior JET Runtime to embedded systems. Deployment to conventional desktop/laptop computers and servers is royalty-free.
Microbusiness Licenses NEW
MicroISVs, early stage startups, and other companies employing five or less people may purchase Excelsior JET, Professional Edition for Windows at a reduced price under the Microbusiness Licensing Program.
License Upgrades
If you already have the current version of Excelsior JET, Standard or Professional Edition, you may upgrade your license to a more powerful Edition at a discount:

- You must hold an active Support Contract in order to qualify for a license upgrade.

Version Upgrades
Owners of an active Support Contract are entitled for a free upgrade to the latest version. If your Support Contract has expired less than six months ago, you may renew it, otherwise purchasing a new license is your only option.
Support Contracts
All Excelsior JET purchases include one year of support and upgrades. You may choose between Standard and Premium support levels. Please refer to Support Overview for details and side-by-side comparison.
After the end of that initial one year period, you may renew your Support Contract for another year.

A Lease-To-Own subscription enables you to get the product immediately and pay for it in 12 equal monthly installments. You also receive support and upgrades as if you paid for the product up front, except that your license becomes perpetual only when you make the last payment.

Excelsior JET 4.8 (J2SE 1.4.2 Support)
The current version of Excelsior JET only supports Java SE 6 and J2SE 5.0. If your application runs on J2SE 1.4.2 and you do not want to migrate to a more recent Java version for any reason, you may purchase Excelsior JET 4.8, which is the last version with support for J2SE 1.4.2.

Academic Licenses
Excelsior JET Academic Edition costs just $100 per seat, but has all features of the Professional Edition. Restrictions are only present in the license:
- You may only use the product for education and non-commercial research
- You would not receive much support, though we would accept your defect reports and include fixes in Maintenace Packs
- The license will terminate when you graduate or quit teaching
Academic institutions aiming at making multiple installations should consider purchasing an Academic Site License that comes with support and upgrades.
Non-Commercial Use Licenses
Authors of non-commercial Java software willing to exchange links and/or otherwise promore Excelsior JET are welcome to apply for a free license.
