EXCELSIOR JET 3.11 IS AVAILABLE

New version of a J2SE Java VM built around a static native code compiler provides first-class application deployment facilities

NOVOSIBIRSK, RUSSIA - 28 April, 2003 - Excelsior JET 3.11, an important update focused on compatibility and deployment facilities, is available immediately from Excelsior, LLC and authorized resellers worldwide.

Excelsior JET 3.11 features the all-new Excelsior Installer and the completely rewritten deployment automation tool - JetPackII. Together they enable you to create professionally looking Windows installers for Java applications optimized using the Excelsior JET ahead-of-time native code compiler.

With JetPackII rich GUI, you can easily package your applications into self-installing executables powered by Excelsior Installer, prepare them to be run off a CD, or emit instructions for deployment with any third-party setup generator, such as InstallShield or Wise.

Excelsior Installer is a lightweight application install/uninstall utility specially designed to deploy Excelsior JET executables. The current version can display installation dialogs in English, German, Japanese, and Russian.

ABOUT EXCELSIOR JET

Excelsior JET is a Java VM implemented as a combination of three major components: optimizing ahead-of-time (AOT) compiler, Caching JIT compiler, and high performance runtime. It supports J2SE versions 1.3.0-1.4.1 and is currently available on Windows only, though Linux version is under development.

The Professional Edition is priced from $750 to $2,300 per developer, depending on media, support, and maintenance options. The Standard Edition ranges from $200 to $500 per developer. Volume discounts, options for site/corporate licensing, and consulting services are available.
