Java Interoperability with Other Languages

Java code may be intergrated with native code written in C, C++, or any other natively compiled language with the help of Java Native Interface (JNI). This, in particular, allows you to:

  • quickly interface to system-dependent components of your application;
  • implement performance-critical pieces of code in C or assembly;
  • reuse your legacy C/C++/Deplhi/etc. code;
  • employ third party libraires written in languages other then Java, etc.
On the other hand, the JNI specification is known to be complicated and implementation of native methods is error prone. Our xFunction product aims at simplifying Java interfacing to native functions, but if it does not suite your needs, you may still use our JNI expertise by ordering from us development of a JNI-compliant interface to your native code.
