Out of Memory: Maximum number of memory mappings exceeded

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Been getting "Fatal: Out of Memory" errors on an application I inherited and after setting:

JETVMPROP "-Djet.gc.fatal.out.of.memory -Djet.gc.verbose.out.of.memory"

The *enhanced* error message is now:

"Out of Memory: Maximum number of memory mappings exceeded"

I don't find any specific reference to the additional text anywhere in the docs, forums, google, etc. Wondered if anyone knew exactly what this message means. It *sounds* like memory addressing is the issue, not necessarily overall memory consumption. Open to any and all ideas.

"Out of Memory: Maximum number of memory mappings exceeded"

It seems that you use Excelsior JET 7.2 (or elder version) on Linux, right?

Please try the latest version (Excelsior JET 7.6) and tell us if this problem is reproduced there.
