Segmentation fault on newer kernels

Recommended Posts

I've been using excelsior jet for linux for some time now without any problems. Recently i come across a weird problem that results in any binary produced aswell as the compiler itself (jc) producing a segmentation fault immediately after launching. This problem seems to occur on any machine running a newer kernel independant of the distribution. I've tested on suse (kernel and gentoo (

The binary wouldn't even load up in a debugger, so I suspect the problem to be in the elf loader.

strace tells us, we don't even come to the point where the binary is executed itself.

$ strace ./jc
execve("./jc", ["./jc"], [/* 57 vars */]) = 0
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) ---
+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++

Any help would be apprechiated, thanks
